background
Aside from being a creative outlet for myself, I’m hoping this space will capture the steps I’m taking towards a more fulfilling life but also garner the attention of like-minded young people, those that aspire to make a change, have already made a change, or individuals that are just looking for some guidance.
I formerly worked in a financial firm in Midtown and while it suggested prestige, ambition, and “success”, there was something amiss in the sense of the corporate environment: mindfulness and true connection to your work and to others. I struggled narrowing down the purpose of this space because I have so many passions, topics, questions to really flesh out the meaningful conversations I hope to start here. However, what I do know is that I have taken notice of the lack of engagement in the workplace where there is a lot of discussion to be had about feelings and reflection. I’m finding an increasing amount of my lovely, smart and talented friends are still unsatisfied with their day job and are still left with wanting more from life. Many of us need to find a way to find balance and enrichment in our lives while still holding onto that paycheck. We all have the potential to look into ourselves and discover new life and opportunities to chase something meaningful. Hence, the name of the blog: Wellspring which essentially means a bountiful source of something. I hope you can find a helpful article on Wellspring that inspires you to reflect and find purpose in the chaos of life.
